flies flies, good for the heart

Hello all
Ok. Since I keep getting questions about why I am often carrying around flies (drosophila melanogaster if you want to be crisp about it) this might help...Also, its good for a laugh. Firstly, I have 'em coz they v. good to do genetics with. That and they were going to be killed (MURDERERS!! who knew year 10's could be so evil??) and i don't like things being unnecessarily killed. If its for cancer research or something, go for your life, but these were cute, and free...
Anyway I recieved an email from the flies (typed helpfully by Bianca)

Dear Goldie
please come and rescue us from the feral year 10 girls!! Only a few of
us survive now - we seek asylum from a more tolerant person than Di!!

Dear Droso Collective,

i shall rescue you and grant you asylum in the place know as Goldie's Ecosystem, (otherwise known as "the mess", the "don't go in there, Uncle Gustav went in there 4 years ago and hasn't been seen since, i think he's pickled somewhere" and "the room of the dead" by certain members of the familly) where flies skeletons and, other bugs and random animals are welcome. You shall get a cherry ripe for your pain, and mental suffering, and be looked after and loved, with a nice place on the towel rail, and at other times you shall have a spot by the window with a lovely view of the back lanes of Carlton.
I shall come for you on Thursday...I shall be carrying a balaclava and wearing a red rose..

Hope this explains a bit. Also, if anyone wants to do some groovy genetic crosses and try to breed mutant flies, just ask - i have plenty.
